Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity - UPV
UPV measurements can be used to evaluate the quality of concrete and uniformity from the surface. The test also be used to evaluate the depth of existing cracks. Our smart approach in combing the UPV measurements and rebound hammer values enables accurate prediction of concrete strength in existing structures. The test practice has been standardized by the ASTM, and EN.

Seismic tomography is a special test setup based on the very concept of UPV. In this method, a number of receiving sensors are placed and fixed in the test locations, while the transmitter moves. The pulse generated by transmitter are received by receiving transducers. The pulse velocity at each trajectory is used to obtain a 2D or 3D seismic tomography contour maps from the condition of concrete structures. Seismic tomography is ideal for testing the large scale concrete elements.

Ultrasonic Pulse Echo - UPE
The pulse-echo method is mostly used to measure the thickness of different components where access to both sides of the element is difficult. Unlike UPV, in the Pulse-Echo, both transmitter and receiver are located in the same position. The concept behind this method relies on the propagation of acoustic waves through materials. The travel time of acoustic waves between the emitted impulse and the reflected acoustic waves are used to evaluate the thickness of medium. Depending on the multi-layer system under investigation, the travel time of shear or compressive waves are used to evaluate the thickness of each layer.
