Nondestructive Evaluation of Trunk Sewer System

FPrimeC Solutions was engaged by Michels Canada Co to evaluate the concrete lining thickness along 250 ft. major sever in Markham, ON. The area under investigation was part of 16th Av. Markham Sewer rehabilitation.
The Problem
The main objective of this investigation was to evaluate the thickness of concrete lining in the trunk sewer. The client was also interested to predict the strength of concrete at 30 ft long area inside the trunk sewer. Combination of NDT methods were used to help the client.
NDT/NDE Inspection
FPrimeC conducted a detail Visual Inspection on the concrete lining. The evaluation was followed by Ultrasonic Pulse Echo (UPE), Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV), and Rebound Number (Schmidt hammer) to evaluate the strength of concrete.
